Little to retire ‘Coffee House’ with 25th annual concert Feb. 3

PLATTSMOUTH (SNR) – Nebraska musician and entertainer Terry Little will present his 25th and final annual “Coffee House” Saturday, Feb. 3, at the St. John the Baptist School gym in Plattsmouth.

Although Little’s past coffee house concerts have included other performers, this will be a three-hour solo concert by Terry – with just his 6- and 12-string acoustic guitars – as a gift to the community for supporting his music since he moved to Plattsmouth 29 years ago.

The evening of folk music and fun will begin at 7 p.m., and will feature songs and stories from the past six decades.

The Coffee House started in 1994 in Little’s basement. About 50 friends gathered for a musical trip down memory lane, and the next year it moved to the school gym so that more people could attend. Since then it has become an annual celebration held the first Saturday of each February and has drawn a large following.

The coffee house event is an evening for adults only. Coffee and refreshments will be served, but attendees are invited to bring snacks and beverages to share. Attendees are also invited to dress in 60s and 70s coffee house style, as prizes will be awarded.

There is no charge to attend, but free-will donations will be accepted to benefit the parish.

Born in England and a convert to the Catholic faith, Little has ministered in music to congregations and entertained audiences around the world for the past 50 years.  An accomplished musician and songwriter, he has appeared on EWTN’s “Life on the Rock” television show and has several albums to his credit.

Little is a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit, Plattsmouth, where he served for 28 years as director of music and liturgy. Now retired, Little and his wife Mary enjoy traveling and visiting. They have six children and 16 grandchildren.
