WAVERLY (SNR) - Father Zachary of the Mother of God, SOLT, will return to Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House near Waverly for the third Eucharistic Adoration Retreat, Oct. 17-20.

Hosted by the Knights of the Holy Eucharist, this year’s retreat adds a Marian theme: “Mary, Mother of the Eucharist.”  The retreat will help participants enter into the school of Mary, “Woman of the Eucharist” as St. John Paul II called her in his encyclical on the Eucharist.

“We can have a living encounter with the living Lord Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist,” Father Zachary said. “And Mary can guide us to faith in the most holy sacrament, because ‘She who believed’ (Luke 1:45) has a profound relationship with it, and was in a sense the first tabernacle holding the Body of Christ.”

The Knights of the Holy Eucharist are a group of Franciscan religious brothers founded in 1998 by the late Mother Mary Angelica, foundress of EWTN. They are serving the Church in the Diocese of Lincoln and dedicated to fostering reverent devotion to the Lord in the Most Blessed Sacrament.

Father Zachary of the Mother of God is a member of the Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity (SOLT). He appears on EWTN and speaks frequently at conferences, parish missions, and as a retreat master, displaying his love and commitment to the priesthood, the Eucharist, Our Lady, and Holy Mother Church in his life and mission.

The four-day retreat will begin on Thursday at 8 p.m. with a rosary and Mass, and concludes with 10 a.m. Sunday Mass.
