NEBRASKA CITY – Lourdes Central in Nebraska City hosted the Funke family and members of the Lourdes community Nov. 19, to celebrate the dedication and blessing of the newly renovated library and media center.
Tom Funke, an honorary alumnus, and Dorothy (Heng) Funke, a graduate of the class of 1961, were devoted members of the Lourdes family and shared gifts generously with alumni and the school. Dorothy worked at Lourdes from 1991-2018 and served the school in various ways, including as alumni coordinator and school librarian.
The renovation of the library was made possible through memorial gifts and is a continuation of Tom and Dorothy’s impact at Lourdes Central Catholic School.
Lourdes Central opened in 1861 and serves more than 350 students in grades preschool through 12.
