LINCOLN (SNR) – Matt Simmons, diocesan director of the Office of Evangelization and Spiritual Formation, will lead a series of presentations on “Spiritual Warfare” at JXXIII Diocesan Center in Lincoln.

Spiritual warfare, Simmons explained, is “how we deal with the normal action of the evil one in our lives.”

The suggested audience is anyone in the diocese – parishioners, clergy, religious, etc. The evenings will focus on Ephesians 6:12, “For our struggle is not with flesh and blood but with the principalities, with the powers, with the world rulers of this present darkness, with the evil spirits in the heavens.”

The presentations will be held on Tuesdays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The first will be Jan. 21, 2020 on “Our Identity in Christ.” The next will be Feb. 18, “Battleground of Our Minds”; the final event will be March 24, “Our Weapons for Spiritual Warfare.”

The workshop is free and registration is requested at https://lincolndiocese.regfox.com/03oe-spiritual-warfare.  With questions, call 402-473-0615 or e-mail This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

The mission of the Office of Evangelization and Spiritual Formation is twofold. The first is to spread the Gospel to all people, both the unbaptized and baptized, so that they may come to an encounter with Christ.

The office’s second mission is to support the efforts and spiritual life of the evangelized by teaching people to pray more effectively and empowering them to share their faith, as the greatest opportunity for evangelization and discipleship happens in personal one-on-one relationships. Areas impacted through these efforts include adult faith formation, evangelization, Bible studies, prayer and leadership training, and retreats.
