KEARNEY (SNR) – Sister Catherine Bones will be the featured speaker for the brunch hosted by the Mary Full of Grace Magnificat Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020.

The event will be held at the Ramada Inn in Kearney.

Her theme will be, “My spirit rejoices in God my Savior” from Luke 1:47.

Sister Catherine entered the order of the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth, in Leavenworth Kan., and in August 1975, professed perpetual vows. Her background includes teaching in three high schools. For 17 years she served as vice president of Mission Integration on administrative teams at five hospitals. She has also served on boards for clinics, schools, and a hospital.

Sister Catherine has been at St. James Parish in Kearney for four years as pastoral associate.

Magnificat was begun in 1981 by a group of Catholic women from the Archdiocese of New Orleans who observed a need among Catholic women for a faith-sharing experience in a relaxed social setting. There are now more than 100 chapters throughout the United States and its territories and in many foreign countries. The Mary, Full of Grace Magnificat Chapter in Kearney formally began in 2007.
