WAVERLY (SNR) - All women are invited to join a four-day “Spiritual Exercises” retreat with Regnum Christi Jan. 23-26 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House in Waverly.
All women desiring to live out their baptismal call to holiness and to grow in their love for Jesus Christ are invited to participate.
Regnum Christi is an apostolic movement of men and women who desire to spread the Kingdom of Christ in the heart of every person and society, and to be at the service of others and of the Church. Regnum Christi is active in more than 20 countries, evangelizing in a variety of parish and family apostolates.
The Regnum Christi retreat will be presented by Father Bruce Wren, ordained to the Legionaries of Christ in 1996. He works as the superior of the Legionaries of Christ community in Chicago, and has experience of being a school rector, formator of novices, and currently as a spiritual director for many religious and lay people.
Assisting at the retreat will be Laura Mayers, a consecrated lay woman in Regnum Christi. She has taught college level developmental and educational psychology, and has done spiritual retreats and Theology of the Body conferences for young adults, men and women across the United States, Mexico and Canada.
Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House offers a peaceful atmosphere of prayer and recollection, situated on a spacious acreage near Waverly. The facility includes 50 single rooms, each with a private bath. Each retreat includes meditations by the retreat master, and opportunities for silence, prayer, adoration and the sacraments.

Other upcoming retreats for both men and women will be held Jan. 31-Feb. 2, an “Unbound” retreat with Father William Holoubek; and Feb. 28-March 1, “Living on God’s Word” with Father Christopher Goodwin. The LDCCW winter symposium for women will be held Feb. 7-8.
