DAVID CITY (SNR) – Aquinas and St. Mary Schools in David City began another five-year strategic plan Feb. 10.

The previous strategic plan revealed five founding pillars and 79 implementation items that help produce outstanding Catholic education in David City. The five strategic plan pillars are supportive student life, sacred Catholic foundation, exceptional learning environment, dynamic community relationships, and financial sustainability and advancement.

Strategic planning is vital to ensure the future of quality Catholic education.

“In order to fulfill our mission as a Catholic school system, we need to reflect and celebrate our accomplishments, as well as making the changes needed to accomplish our strategic goals,” explained Father Sean Timmerman, chief administrative officer of Aquinas and St. Mary.

During the first of three open forums, the Aquinas and St. Mary community was able to get an overview on the strategic plan process, history of the previous strategic plan, and ideas of ways to make their voices heard. Those with suggestions or questions may contact Father Timmerman, Mrs. Sarah Zook, or Mrs. Deb Svec.

The next open forum will be held Monday, March 16 at 7 p.m. at the Aquinas Chapel Meeting Room.
