STRATTON (SNR) – A retreat will be held Oct. 19 at St. Joseph Church in Stratton.

The retreat, entitled “Francis of Assisi during Difficult Times,” will be facilitated by Sister Rochelle Kerkhof OSF, Grant Deanery youth coordinator.

Sister Rochelle has served the nine parishes of the Grant Deanery for 10 years. She previously worked as principal and teacher in the Omaha Archdiocese.

The Oct. 19 event is open to all adults looking for a deeper relationship with Jesus and a friendship with other disciples.

“This is a great step forward with Jesus Christ, and it’s close to home,” said Father Bernard Lorenz, pastor. He said the retreat would be an opportunity to get to know St. Francis of Assisi and St. Clare from the point of view of a religious sister who knows the saints well.

“This will give you hopeful courage and insight to take on the difficult decisions of tomorrow.”

The retreat will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. CT. It will include Mass and COVID-19 restrictions will be observed.

Free-will offerings will be accepted and meat will be provided for lunch; participants are invited to bring a small salad or dessert to share.

For more information and to register, RSVP by Oct. 12 by calling Father Lorenz at 308-414-1195.
