LAWRENCE (SNR) – In the Lawrence area, the St. Stephen Knights of Columbus Council 1906 has been replacing road signs that were getting old; the messages were not as bright as they once were.
Knights’ Councils across the state are responsible for many road signs with pro-life messages.
A pro-life sign on the highway west of Lawrence was replaced several weeks ago by Randy Lemke, Ken Kathman and Don Kathman. The sign was designed by Don Kathman, and the Nebraska State Council contributed to help pay for the sign.
The “Keep Christ in Christmas” sign in front of Sacred Heart Church in Lawrence is also posted on the highway for maximum viewing.
An anonymous donor paid the expense of the new sign, and Council member Kevin Pohlmeier designed the sign and takes care of getting the sign up each year and is the custodian of the sign throughout the year.
