LINCOLN (SNR) – Bishop Joseph Perry, auxiliary bishop of Chicago, ordained five men to the priesthood for the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter (FSSP) at North American Martyrs Church in Lincoln May 28.
The Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter was established by Pope John Paul II in 1988 for the express purpose of preserving the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite. Our Lady of Guadalupe Seminary in Denton is the international seminary for English-speaking candidates for the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter.
The men ordained May 28 are Father John Audino of Clifton Park, N.Y.; Father Joseph Dalimata of Coram, Mont.; Father James Eichman of Fort Wayne, Ind.; Father Nicholas Eichman of Fort Wayne, Ind.; and Father Thu Truong of Brentwood, Tenn.
Father Troung and Father Dalimata served as deacons at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Lincoln, and celebrated their first Masses at St. Francis May 28 and May 29, and afterward gave first blessings to the faithful.
The FSSP plans to ordain two more men trained at Our Lady of Guadalupe Seminary overseas in the coming months. The Eichman twins join their older brother as an FSSP priest, with a younger Eichman brother still training at the seminary.
