MILLIGAN – St. Wenceslaus Parish in Milligan will hold its inaugural “Brewfest” event Saturday, Sept. 25.

The day will begin with Mass at 9 a.m. in St. Wenceslaus Church, including Czech hymns. Kolaches and coffee will be served – for free-will offerings – in the church basement from 9:30 a.m.to 10:30 a.m. Polka music will be performed by The Polka Dudes.

The St. Wenceslas Brewfest will take place in the beer garden west of the Milligan Auditorium from 10:30 a.m. to10:30 p.m. The opening ceremony will begin at 1 p.m. with an invocation by pastor Father Brendan Kelly. There will be talks by guest speakers from the Czech Embassy from Washington D.C., the Czech Consulate in Chicago and honorary Czech Consulate in Nebraska.

The event will include Czech beers and wines, live polka bands, food demonstrations, and adult and kids activities provided by the Czech Embassy and Czech students from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Kolaches will also be for sale in the beer garden throughout the day’s events.
