LINCOLN (SNR) – St. Peter Parish in Lincoln will host Dr. Denis McNamara for the presentation “What’s in a Church Building?” Tuesday, Oct. 12 at 7 p.m.
The presentation will be held in St. Peter Church, 4500 Duxhall Dr., Lincoln.
McNamara will speak about how liturgical art and architecture play an important role in aiding participation in the liturgy. A church building is meant to serve as a sign of the Heavenly reality for which we are destined, he will explain, of God’s desire to dwell with mankind forever.
McNamara is director of The Center for Beauty and Culture at Benedictine College and has taught classes in architecture, art history and theology, both at Benedictine and the Liturgical Institute at Mundelein Seminary. He is author of several books and the host of “The Liturgy Guys” podcast.
All are welcome to learn about the theology that informs the architecture and sacred art in a Church.
