LINCOLN (SNR) – The Family Life Office is continuing their date night opportunities with some new options.
“We are continuing to offer date night both in person and virtually like we did this summer,” explained Marilyn Klein, “but wanted to try a new format to make it easier for couples to be able to have a good conversation and actually have a ‘date-like’ experience instead of just going to a talk and trying to squeeze dinner in before or after.”
The new format debuts Oct. 26. After pre-registering, couples can come at 6 p.m. to the Rosary Hall in the St. Thomas Aquinas Newman Center, 320 N. 16th St. in Lincoln.
Food will be served at 6:15 p.m. for those who choose a full dinner for two. An appetizers-and-drinks option, or those who would like to just join for the talk either virtually or in person can arrive at 7 p.m.
The prices for the various options are $45 for dinner, appetizers, and drinks for two, $15 for appetizers and drinks for two, or free for those who just want to join for the talk.
Father Sean Kilcawley, director for the Office of Family Life, will be talking about “Living the Sacrament of Marriage” for the Oct. 26 event. Katie Ostgren, founder of the Sword and Crown Candle Company, will speak at the Nov. 16 date night, relating to the saints and marriage and family life in the month of celebrating all saints.
