LINCOLN (SNR) – St. Peter Parish in Lincoln will pray the “Stations of the Nativity” Friday, Dec. 9, at 6 p.m. in the church, 4500 Duxhall Dr., Lincoln.
The stations were written by pastor Father Eric Clark, and received the imprimatur (“let it be printed”) of Bishop James Conley in November 2021. Father Clark said he wanted a devotional to help prepare himself for Christmas like the stations of the cross for Lent.
“Growing up in a mission parish of McCool Junction, we never had the priest visit our parish except on Sundays, and during Lent we had the stations of the cross,” he explained. “As a kid, I was so enamored with the stations of the cross.”
Then a few years ago, he saw a holy card with “Stations of the Nativity.”
“So I thought, ‘how about I put together the scripture verses along with the Old Testament prophecy and a writing from the Church Fathers,’” he said. “I completed the first draft in 2007 when I was a FOCUS missionary. This is the third draft.”
The parish first presented the stations in December 2021.
“I hope and pray it helps the people of God prepare for the coming of Jesus as it has for me,” Father Clark said.
