Retreat with Fr. Innocent Montgomery, C.F.R., March 31-April 2

Southern Nebraska Register

Father Innocent Montgomery, C.F.R. invites men and women of all ages to go on a retreat at Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House in Waverly Palm Sunday weekend, March 31-April 1.

Father Innocent grew up in Lincoln with his twin brother and their triplet sister. He entered the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal in 2007. In 2016, he was ordained a priest and now serves as the Local Superior for St. Joseph Friary in Harlem, N.Y. He is also the co-host for the Poco a Poco podcast, and serves as a chaplain for Reform Wellness. The Franciscan Friars of the Renewal are a Catholic religious order founded in 1987 in the South Bronx.

Taking from the practical spirituality that is lived by the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal, the March 31-April 1 retreat will be a “source of rest, encouragement, refreshment, and renewal for all pilgrims” who take their faith journey “little by little.”

Entitled “Following the Lord Little by Little (Poco a Poco),” the retreat is based on the popular “Poco a Poco” podcast from the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal. In this podcast, the friars “break open the Gospel in light of their years of prayer, communal life, and work with the poor.”

During the retreat in Waverly, participants will find a deep friendship with Jesus, encountering Him in His gentleness, humility and simplicity. Retreatants will find that all are on one great pilgrimage to the Heavenly Home, the Father’s House, and that all that is necessary is to follow Jesus little by little, learning to discern His voice for what He calls each person into next.
