St. Michael Parish in Hastings will host a Lenten parish mission March 19-22.

During a mission, the people of the parish are invited to gather each evening for a series of presentations to experience a spiritual renewal and bring about a deeper love for God.

At St. Michael Church, Father Richard Veras, a priest of New York and regular contributor of Magnificat magazine, will speak on “The Word Made Flesh: Foreshadowed, Fulfilled, Forever!” He will speak March 19 through 22, at 7 p.m.

The Sunday talk is titled “Our Being Proclaims the Lord! – The human longing for God.” On Monday he will present “Israel proclaims, ‘He is near!’ – God in the Old Testament.” The Tuesday talk is titled “Emmanuel proclaims, ‘He is here!’ – Jesus in the Gospels,” and on Wednesday he will present the final talk, “The Spirit proclaims, ‘He is with us always!’ – Jesus in the Church.”

The talks are open to all, and attendees may come to one or all of the evenings. For more information about the mission, visit the parish website at stmichaelshastings.com or call the parish offices, 402-463-1023. Childcare will be made available for those who contact the church office for arrangements.

Father Veras is the author of two books: “Jesus of Israel: Finding Jesus in the Old Testament” and “Wisdom for Everyday Life from the Book of Revelation.”

St. Michael Church in Hastings was built in 1968 and completed a “rejuvenation” in the fall of 2021, reusing and repurposing many existing fixtures in the church for a renovation of the interior. St. Michael Church is located at 715 Creighton Ave.
