Women at the Well apostolate to lead 24-hour event for women.
Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House in Waverly invites women to step away from their daily routines and enter into a transformative 24-hour retreat, “The Power of a Praying Mother,” led by Natalie Gifford and Kristin Schiff of Women at the Well.
Taking place May 9-10, the retreat is designed to equip women with the spiritual tools to intercede for their families through Marian devotion and the wisdom of saintly mothers. Anchored in the words of Jesus: “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them” (Matthew 18:20), the retreat will provide women with practical ways to deepen their prayer lives and build a community of faith.
“The heart of this retreat is the ‘Power of a Praying Mother’ fueled by scripture and the saints,” Schiff said. “We will dig deep into Marian devotion and the lives of saints as our guide to be powerful intercessors for our families.”
The retreat begins Friday at 7 p.m. and concludes Saturday with Mass and a 6 p.m. supper. Throughout the retreat, women will engage in guided reflections on Marian devotion and the lives of saintly mothers, practical ways to intercede for their families, time for prayer, discussion, and spiritual renewal. The retreat will also include Mass, Eucharistic adoration, and the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
Women at the Well, an apostolate founded by Natalie Gifford, is dedicated to building faith and community among Catholic women. Through small groups, encounter events, and parish-based ministries, Gifford and Schiff have been empowering women in their faith journeys for more than a decade.
