The Lincoln Chapter of Magnificat Women’s Ministry invites women of all ages to experience the transforming power of the Holy Spirit at the Life in the Spirit Retreat Sept. 26-28 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House in Waverly.
This weekend retreat will be led by the nationally known Living Praise Worship Team from Steubenville, Ohio, featuring Susan Potvin, Karen Herrmann and Carolyn Cannizzaro.
Rooted in the heart of Catholic charismatic renewal, the Life in the Spirit Seminar is designed to renew participants’ relationship with Jesus Christ and deepen their openness to the Holy Spirit and His supernatural gifts. The retreat offers teachings, personal testimony, praise and worship, and prayer, focused on stirring into flame the gifts of the Spirit.
The Living Praise Worship Team brings more than 40 years of experience in worship and ministry. Susan Potvin, leader of the team and chair for worship for Magnificat International, has helped lead Magnificat worship through national conferences, albums, and leadership training. Karen Herrmann, author of “Come Holy Spirit,” and Carolyn Cannizzaro, leader of a healing ministry and member of the National Service Committee for the Catholic Charismatic Renewal, will also present during the weekend.
Retreatants will be invited to receive prayer for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit, often referred to as the “Baptism in the Holy Spirit.”
The retreat begins Friday at 7 p.m. with rosary and Mass, and concludes with Sunday lunch at noon. All talks, worship, and meals will take place at Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House, a peaceful setting for reflection and spiritual renewal just outside Lincoln.
