The 2025 Diocesan Communications Workshop will include a keynote address from a Catholic communications and marketing expert who works with dioceses and groups across the country.

Katie Pesha, the founder of KP Consulting Group based in St. Louis, will address attendees via Zoom as part of the workshop Thursday, Oct. 16, from noon to 3 p.m. at St. Joseph Parish in Lincoln.

Pesha began her career with USA Today, where she served as national director for higher education programs. She also worked as the executive director of communications and planning for the Archdiocese of St. Louis, where she oversaw all marketing, interactive media, community relations, publications and pastoral planning efforts for the Archdiocese.

In 2016, Pesha founded KP Consulting Group, which focuses on Catholic marketing and communications. She also participated in the Church Communications Ecology Program sponsored by the McGrath Institute for Church Life at the University of Notre Dame, which promotes parish vitality through better communications.

“Katie has great insight into ways to help Catholic organizations improve their communications efforts,” said Dennis Kellogg, director of communications for the Catholic Diocese of Lincoln. “I spent a week with her and her team as part of a workshop and came away with great ideas and a better perspective on the work we do. I know those attending this year’s workshop will benefit from her expertise.”

Pesha will highlight this second annual Communications Workshop sponsored by the Diocese of Lincoln’s Office of Communications. The free workshop is for anyone who works with communications and media for a diocesan parish, school or organization. More than 60 employees and volunteers attended the first workshop last year.

The Communications Workshop includes lunch, the keynote address, updates from the diocese, and discussions on best practices for communications and marketing in the diocese. The diocesan communications team will share about plans in the works and how local schools, parishes and organizations can help get their stories out through diocesan platforms such as the Southern Nebraska Register and social media channels.

“We found last year this was a great opportunity to bring together those in communications and marketing in the diocese for professional development and talking through challenges and opportunities with their peers,” Kellogg said. “One of the biggest benefits is getting to meet the people who are doing the same work they’re doing, discussing common issues and knowing those people are just a phone call away if you have questions.”

There is no cost to attend the workshop, but registration is required by Oct. 9. Please sign up at https://lincolndiocese.regfox.com/07-dio-free-communication-workshop.
