St. John the Apostle Parish in Lincoln held a “Walking with Moms in Need” collection in November to benefit St. Gianna’s Women’s Homes.
The St. Gianna program of Catholic Social Services of Southern Nebraska offers moms and their children a safe and stable living environment. When mothers then transition to their own homes, they can take the kitchen items they’ve been utilizing at St. Gianna, meaning new supplies are necessary to restock the shelves for future residents.
St. John’s parishioners donated more than $3,200 in cash donations, and filled nearly three truckloads of kitchen items to benefit the 22 women currently supported by St. Gianna’s.
