As we enter a new year, filled with hope and opportunities to continue making a difference in the lives of those around us, we are excited to extend to you an invitation to our annual event, Celebration of Hope, taking place Feb. 25 at the Embassy Suites in Lincoln.
This event is not just a gathering—it’s an evening during which we at CSS can express our gratitude for all the ways you have helped the poor and vulnerable across southern Nebraska this past year.
The heart of this year’s Celebration of Hope lies in our commitment to sustainability and its profound impact on serving the poor and vulnerable across southern Nebraska. CSS strives to preserve and improve the lives of those we encounter daily and for future generations.
We are guided by our core values of dignity of the human person, integrity, empathy, trust, and sustainability. Sustainability is “development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.” Increasingly, each of our programs prioritize responsible discernment of our God-given resources while inspiring hope and love for all those we serve and encounter. We uphold our Catholic identity as a guide for how we care for creation and our southern Nebraska community. To explore this topic, we have organized a thoughtful panel discussion that will share insights on how sustainability can transform the lives of our clients, donors, volunteers, and staff and uplift communities.
Another highlight of the evening will be our year-end review video, showcasing the milestones and achievements made possible through your generous support. It’s a chance to reflect on the positive impact that we’ve achieved together and to celebrate the collective efforts that have brought hope to the individuals and families that we serve.
In recognition of the power of small acts of service, we will be presenting the Heart of Christ award to the Mike and Emily Villa family of Lincoln who have demonstrated compassion, selflessness, and joy throughout the past year. Their dedication to making a difference in the lives of others serves as an inspiration to us all, and we look forward to honoring them during Celebration of Hope. We are also delighted to announce that the talented Wildwoods will join us again this year to provide live music for the evening!
As we come together for this special occasion, we want to express our deepest gratitude to each one of you who have supported Catholic Social Services of Southern Nebraska whether by giving of your time, giving financially, or through prayer. Your contributions, whether big or small, have played a crucial role in being a light for people in dark times.
Join us on Sunday, Feb. 25, at the Embassy Suites, for an evening filled with inspiration, connection, and the shared belief that together we can make a difference. Your presence and support are invaluable to us, and we eagerly anticipate the opportunity to express our heartfelt thanks. Thank you and May God bless you!
