The Catholic Diocese of Lincoln includes more than 130 parishes across 40 counties in southern Nebraska, serving 74,000 Catholics. These Southern Nebraska Register photos are from a Sunday Mass at St. Luke’s Czech Catholic Shrine in Loma. The church was built in 1912. The parish closed in 1992, but reopened as a shrine dedicated to the Czech Catholic immigrants who settled in Butler and Saunders counties. Father Steven Snitily celebrated the Mass March 16 for the Second Sunday of Lent.
