Religious of the Catholic Diocese of Lincoln were honored at the “Sisters Appreciation” Mass and dinner held Oct. 11 at Sacred Heart Parish in Lincoln. Bishop James Conley celebrated the Mass. Concelebrants were Msgr. Timothy Thorburn and Father Jamie Hottovy of Sacred Heart Parish; Father Gary Coulter, vicar for religious; and Father Joseph Wahlmeier, homilist. The Knights of the Holy Eucharist assisted as servers for the Mass. The annual event is sponsored by the Serra Club of Lincoln, which fosters and promote vocations to the priesthood and religious life. It is co-hosted by a different parish each year. Bishop Conley presented the religious with gifts—medals of St. Francis, in honor of the St. Francis Jubilee Year.
