Homework Outline
This class begins by discussing the First Commandment in the context of the virtues of Faith, Hope and Love, interspersed with a discussion of various sins that counter these virtues, such as despair, presumption, hatred, idolatry, superstition, etc. It then continues by focusing on the positive means of keeping the First Commandment by adoration and prayer, reviewing ACTS and various methods of prayer. The Second Commandment addresses the value of a name, the role of oaths and vows, the power of the “tongue” in cursing and blasphemy and how the tongue reveals the heart of the person. A homework outline is provided for student notes.
