Homework Outline
This class is the third of three to examine the Sixth and Ninth Commandments on the nature of human sexuality. It covers the topics of pornography and masturbation, sex outside of marriage, do’s and don’ts of dating, cohabitation, adultery, in vitro fertilization, surrogate motherhood and transgenderism before concluding with a focus on chastity and purity. It begins by addressing the pervasive evil of pornography and its influence on masturbation, emphasizing the power of habits and sexual addiction but giving hope for freedom from such addiction and a look at restoration of integrity. Topics affecting sex outside of marriage: fornication, poor relationships, STDs and condom use are then addressed. A lighter, but helpful look at do’s and don’ts of dating follows as well as common misconceptions between men and women. Additional material covered by these Commandments is addressed, leading to a very positive and hope-filled discussion of preserving the virtue of chastity and the ability to commit to living a pure way of life even after having made mistakes along the way. A homework outline is provided for student notes.
