This class examines the role of Abraham in salvation history, beginning with his call while he is still Abram. God promises Abraham three things: land and a nation, kingship and a name, and a blessing for all nations. The stories of Sodom and Gomorra, Hagar and Ismael, and Abraham's encounter with Melchizedek are examined in light of God's covenant with Abraham. Finally, the sacrifice of Isaac is examined as a type of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
