LINCOLN (SNR) – The annual Catholic Coffee House series hosted by the diocesan Office of Evangelization and Spiritual Formation will begin Nov. 10 with the theme, “Personal Testimonies on How an Encounter with God Leads to a Mission.”
The monthly event consists of a presentation by a guest speaker, a question-and-answer session, and time to socialize. Each session is held from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
There is no fee to attend and no registration is required. The events are held at the Guadalupe Center in Gianna’s Java and Gelato, 2241 O St., Lincoln.
The presenters are Dr. Matthew Hecker, chief administrative officer of the diocesan Catholic schools, Nov. 10; Lori Weskamp, Lincoln Unbound prayer team member, Dec. 15; Bob Sullivan, Hastings attorney and apologist, Jan. 19, 2020; and Diane Reiber, artist and author, Feb. 16, 2020.
“The Coffee House series is for anyone who wants to know how your average Catholic comes alive with Jesus and becomes apostolic as a result,” said Matt Simmons, director of the Office of Evangelization and Spiritual Formation. “Each speaker has a deep relationship with God and will share how they not only encountered God in such a way that it changed their lives, but also inspired them to serve others.
“Our hope is to inspire the lay faithful to find what Jesus has specifically called them to,” he said.
