WAVERLY (SNR) – Since April, Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House in Waverly has been giving online retreats, which have allowed an outreach to numerous other states and even a few other countries, as well as providing retreat experiences for those who are shut-in, home-bound, or cannot afford a donation for regular retreat.

As the retreat house makes plans to resume regular retreats in August, with continuing health protocols in place, three online retreats will be available in July.

Jon Leonetti, a nationally-known Catholic speaker, author and radio host, will present a parish mission style retreat entitled “Surge of the Heart” July 11-13.“Selfishness, greed, resentment, ego make us miserable,” Leonetti said. “It’s the cross of Jesus Christ and the power of the Gospel that can set us free.”

Matthew Kelly, founder of Dynamic Catholic, said Surge of the Heart is “One of the most inspiring parish missions available in America today.”

Consisting of three powerful talks, aired Friday through Sunday at 7 p.m., but also available as recordings to watch anytime, “Surge of the Heart” is an event for participants to laugh, grow, and be inspired.

Leonetti is the author of three books – “Mission of the Family,” “Your God is Too Boring,” and “The Art of Getting Over Yourself.” The first two books are published and featured in Matthew Kelly’s Dynamic Catholic Book Program. Leonetti is a daily host on the Iowa Catholic Radio morning show; his videos, blogs and “Your Catholic Life” podcast are all found at jonleonetti.com.

Bart Schuchts of the John Paul II Healing Center returns for a retreat on John chapter 14, “We are not alone,” Friday night and Saturday July 24-25.

Schuchts, who led an online retreat for Our Lady of Good Counsel in June, is passionate about leading people to encounter the Father’s love, as he himself experienced while in the NFL. He is a regular speaker at conferences and retreats, including the JPII Healing Center “Day of Equipping” conferences, and “ABLAZE!” men’s conferences.

The John Paul II Healing Center promotes and inspires transformation in the heart of the Church through conferences and resources that have touched the lives of thousands of people, helping people transform their lives and activate the fullness of their sacramental graces by healing and equipping for the New Evangelization.

A seven-video series by Father Larry Richards, “The Life Changing Power of Doing God’s Will,” are available with a donation. Participants may purchase the videos any time during the month of July and watch when they want, such as a weekend or week-long retreat.

Following in the footsteps of his best-selling “Be a Man” book, “Surrender” outlines concrete steps one can take to dwell in peace.

An inner-city pastor with infectious enthusiasm, Father Richards is the life coach everyone needs on the sidelines of daily life—the “tough love” coach who calls it like he sees it.

Upcoming in-person retreats include are scheduled for July 12-20, eight- and four-day Directed Ignatian Retreats; Aug. 14-16, a women’s retreat with Father Sean Kilcawley; and Aug. 28-30, an Unbound retreat with Matt Simons and Father Gary Coulter.
