LINCOLN (SNR) – As school resumes for more than 7,000 students in the Diocese of Lincoln Catholic Schools, families may show their support for Catholic schools in the public square.
Dan and Kate Haden of St. John the Apostle Parish in Lincoln have “I ❤︎ Catholic Schools” items available for purchase – apparel, face masks, beverage mugs, and car decals. All items are printed and shipped at cost with the sole aim of starting a conversation in the public square regarding the incredible work and mission Catholic schools undertake.
The current online store is available online through Aug. 31 at https://stores.inksoft.com/catholic_schools/shop/home. All orders will be collected while the store is open, then printed and shipped after that time. Shipping is available at cost to any location in the continental US.
The project began in 2017 from the vision of a few St. John the Apostle school teachers “and their marketing-driven husbands,” Dan Haden said.
Particularly at this time in the country when some may reduce education to a transactional function, he said, “we are reminded of the words that St. John Paul II shared with bishops of the United States: ‘Catholic education aims not only to communicate facts but also to transmit a coherent, comprehensive vision of life, in the conviction that the truths contained in that vision liberate students in the most profound meaning of human freedom.’”
Whether looking at items for a student, family member, teacher or parent, “all are encouraged to visit the store and to bear public witness to your love for Catholic education by purchasing and exhibiting one of these great items,” Haden said.
