WAVERLY (SNR) – Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House in Waverly is opening its fourth Eucharistic adoration retreat to online participants Oct. 2-4, as the in-person retreat is already fully booked.

Hosted by the Knights of the Holy Eucharist of the Diocese of Lincoln, the theme this year is “The Eucharistic Lord and Our Lady: Answers For Our Times.”

The retreat will be led by Father Zachary of the Mother of God, a member of the Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity (SOLT). He appears on EWTN and speaks frequently at retreats, conferences and parish missions.

“In a world of so much confusion and fear,” he said, “we need the presence of Our Lord who gives us peace, who is peace Himself. He is really present to us in the midst of all of this and he is working, he has a bigger vision and a plan, and we just need to know Him better in the Eucharist.

“Who better than Our Lady can help us to do this?” Father Zachary continued. “She carried Him in her womb and brought him forth into our world. As our Mother too, she will help us understand Our Lord, relate to Him and trust Him.”

In particular, Father Zachary addressed those who will watch or listen online.

“People are longing for Our Lord,” he said. “Even when we cannot receive Him due to watching the Mass online, we can make an act of Spiritual Communion. He knows our heart and the pain of our desire to receive Him physically. He knows our situation and will still come to us.”

The Knights of the Holy Eucharist are Franciscan religious brothers dedicated to fostering reverent devotion to the Eucharist. Founded in 1998 by the late Mother Mary Angelica, they are serving in the Diocese of Lincoln.

The retreat will begin Friday, Oct. 2 at 8 p.m. with a rosary and Mass, and concludes Sunday at noon with Mass. All Masses, talks and adoration will be livestreamed.
