LINCOLN (SNR) – The Knights of Columbus Council #11280 of St. John the Apostle Parish in Lincoln will host a benefit breakfast Oct. 25 for parishioner Cathy Martinez.
The event will be held in the school gymnasium at 76th and Vine streets from 8 a.m. to noon. Sunday Masses are celebrated in St. John Church at 7:30 and 9 a.m. and noon; due to the local directed health measure (DHM), a face covering is required. The Sunday 7:30 a.m. Mass is live-streamed.
The benefit breakfast menu will include all-you-can-eat pancakes, French toast, ham and sausage, eggs, biscuits and gravy, and beverages. Attendees may eat in person, socially distanced, or choose the drive-thru option. Free-will donations will be collected; the suggested rate is a donation of $20 per family.
Martinez is battling renal cancer and funds raised will be given for assistance for medical and hospital bills, plus time off from employment. She is a mother of eight children and a special needs advocate whose influence reaches far and wide.
