WAVERLY (SNR) - The Encounter Conference in Brighton, Mich. is sold out, and virtual tickets are no longer available, but now anyone interested in participating can join in-person at Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House in Waverly as a watch site for the Dec. 28-30 conference.
The Encounter Conference is the flagship event for Encounter Ministries, seeking a revival in the church to encounter God’s refreshment, encouragement and impartation of greater anointing for ministry.
Father Craig Doty, pastor of St. Mary Parish in Denton, has participated in several Encounter Ministries events, and hosted Father Mathias Thelen and Dr. Mary Healy for Healing conferences in the Diocese of Lincoln. Other conference speakers include Father Dave Pivonka and Peter Herbeck.
“Encounter Ministries has opened the eyes, hearts, and minds of my parishioners—and others in our diocese—to the awesome power of God and His real desire to use us as instruments of His healing love,” Father Doty said.
He said conference participants can expect an atmosphere of spirit-filled worship, inspiring and transforming keynote speakers, breakout sessions, a healing service, fellowship and opportunities for prayer ministry and growth in the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
But now, in addition to watching the sold-out conference taking place in Michigan, participants at the Retreat House will have the opportunity for Mass, adoration and confession, discussion, prayer and fellowship, plus meals and lodging.
Social distancing and occupancy limits apply for this conference retreat which begins Monday Dec. 28 with 6 p.m. worship and a 7 p.m. conference. It lasts from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday Dec. 29-30.
Other upcoming retreats include several private directed Ignatian retreats Jan. 1-4, 7-11 and 21-24, a pro-life retreat with Father Thomas MacLean Jan. 15-17, and an online retreat, “Finding Joy in Prayer” with Kendra Von Esh Saturday, Jan. 23.
