LINCOLN (SNR) – All are invited to the 2021 Lenten series: “Introduction to the Spiritual Life.”
Matt Simmons, diocesan director of the Office of Evangelization and Spiritual Formation, will lead the series. It will be held in person at Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House in Waverly, and it will also be available for people to participate from home, with live stream and on-demand recordings.
The series will be held on Tuesdays starting Feb. 16, through March 30. Each session will be held from 7 to 9 p.m.
The topic Feb. 16 is “Prayers in the Gospel of Salvation,” and each week will feature a separate topic. The series will include time for reflections and Eucharistic adoration.

Free-will donations will be accepted to help support the Retreat House’s mission to provide a sanctuary and experience which leads people to encounter Jesus Christ.

The mission of the Office of Evangelization and Spiritual Formation is twofold. The first is to spread the Gospel to all people, both the unbaptized and baptized, so that they may come to an encounter with Christ.
The office’s second mission is to support the efforts and spiritual life of the evangelized by teaching people to pray more effectively and empowering them to share their faith, as the greatest opportunity for evangelization and discipleship happens in personal one-on-one relationships.
Some areas impacted through the efforts of these offices include adult faith formation, evangelization efforts, Bible studies, prayer and leadership training, and retreats.
