WAVERLY (SNR) - Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House in Waverly hosts an Ash Wednesday Recollection each year.
Open to both men and women, this year’s Feb. 17 reflection will also be available online.
Father Sean Kilcawley, director of the Family Life Office of the Diocese of Lincoln, invites all to take a break from distractions and come pay attention to how God has shown his love, as he speaks on the theme “Love Casts Out Fear” (1 John 4:18).
“How does perfect love cast out fear?” Father Kilcawley asked. “It does not require that you have perfect love. Rather, it is trusting that you are loved. Unconditionally. Perfectly. You are called to believe in God’s love for you—even in the midst of pain, guilt, trials—you no longer have to live in fear.”
The Day of Recollection will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. It includes conferences, chaplet, rosary and stations of the cross, confessions, and Mass with ashes.
To attend the Ash Wednesday Recollection in Waverly in-person, advance registration at goodcounselretreat.com is encouraged but not required. Please arrive between 9 and 9:30 a.m. for registration.
