LINCOLN - The “Come Alive” seminar, led by missionaries from the International Missionary Foundation (IMF) will guide candidates through a seven-week immersion at the Cathedral of the Risen Christ in Lincoln.

Rector Father Justin Wylie said he is excited to be offering this – together with a series of other spiritual initiatives, as a springboard for parishioners yearning for a return to full participation in parish and sacramental life.

“During this time of COVID in particular, we wanted to provide a space for people to really experience a fresh start in their faith and a renewed encounter with Christ,” said Joseph Williams, executive director of International Missionary Foundation.

The seven-week seminar will provide profound encounters with the Holy Spirit, not only for parishioners, but for anyone within the Diocese of Lincoln who wishes to participate.

The seminar will take place on Mondays, April 12 through May 24, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Each night will consist of praise and worship, talks from guest speakers, small group discussions and intercessory prayer. Some of the guest speakers include Father Jay Buhman, Matt Simmons, Tony Ojeda and Joy Martin.

Seth Dwyer, assistant director of Parish2Parish Missions at IMF said, “When I think of Come Alive, I think of an encounter with the Lord—Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

“If you experience the love of Christ through listening to talks, learning, small groups, community, music, intercessory prayer, retreats, confession, and/or daily reflections, we have all of that in store for you,” he continued. “’Come Alive’ is not for one specific type of Christian, it’s for every member of the Church.”

Registration for Come Alive, and more information regarding the seminar, can be found online at https://www.cathedraloftherisenchrist.org/news-events/headlines/197-come-alive-seminar or by visiting the Cathedral parish office. The seven-week seminar will cost $50. Included in that cost is a binder with daily reflections for participants to incorporate what they have learned each week into their everyday life.
