STEINAUER (SNR) – An image of The Divine Mercy was recently installed on Highway 50 at Spur 67B, three miles east of Steinauer.
The image is sponsored by the Convent House Bed and Breakfast in Steinauer, and extends a welcome to all who pass by to God’s infinite mercy with the insignia “Jesus I Trust in You.” Solar lighting illuminates the 14-foot, double-sided image so that it is visible at all times.
This Divine Mercy image is known worldwide. It came about in 1931 from St. Faustina apparitions from Jesus in Poland. After her canonization in April 2000, the image was sanctioned by Pope St. John Paul II who encouraged sharing the message of mercy throughout the world. Jesus told Faustina – as recorded in her diary – that all people should have access to His image. The universal message is to remind all people to trust in Jesus.
For more than 25 years, Convent House B&B—owned by St. Anthony Parish in Steinauer and operated by laity—has welcomed all believers and non-believers with hospitality in both food and accommodations.
