WAVERLY (SNR) – To learn about the holy angels and their ministry, all men and women are welcome to the Opus Sanctorum Angelorum retreat at Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House, Thursday through Sunday, Sept. 16-19.

“Did you know that angels have free will, like us? That they can bring us healing? That they can reveal themselves and interact with us?” asked Father Gary Coulter, director of the retreat house.

Angels, he explained, mediate between us and God and serve as our constant companions, advisers, intercessors and protectors.

“Because they are living reflections of the face of God they contemplate, angels draw us into the mysteries of heaven,” he said. “Angels are not only a help for nurturing our children’s love for God; they lead us to a profound desire to please Jesus and do God’s will – this is not just a prayer for children!”

He said all can learn how angels are present in the Mass, and the role they can play in one’s personal prayers.
