WAVERLY (SNR) – A virtual watch party of the Encounter Ministries Conference will be held at Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House in Waverly Dec. 27-29.

The Encounter Conference is the flagship event for Encounter Ministries, seeking a revival in the Church by helping ordinary people in the pews, on the streets, and on campuses encounter God’s love and presence.

“If you can’t go to Michigan for the actual conference, gather at the retreat house to watch the conference,” said Father Gary Coulter, director of Our Lady of Good Counsel.

Speakers include Father Mathias Thelen, Father Mike Schmitz, Dr. Mary Healy, Peter Herbeck, and more.

Father Craig Doty, pastor of St. Mary Parish in Denton and a participant in the Encounter School of Ministry recommended the event.

“Encounter Ministries has opened the eyes, hearts, and minds of my parishioners–and many others in our diocese–to the awesome power of God and His real desire to use us as instruments of His healing love,” he said.

Father Coulter said virtual watch party participants can expect an atmosphere of spirit-filled worship, inspiring and transforming keynote speakers, breakout sessions, Eucharistic Adoration, a healing service, fellowship, and opportunities for prayer ministry and growth in the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Other upcoming retreats at Good Counsel Retreat House include: a four-day directed Ignatian retreat Dec. 30-Jan. 2, 2022; “Men and Women” are from Eden Jan. 14-16 with Father Nathan Hall; Regnum Christi women’s “Spiritual Exercises” Jan. 20-23 with Father Owen Kearns, L.C.; and “Unbound” Feb. 4-6 with Father William Holoubek.
