WAVERLY (SNR) – All men and women are invited to encounter Jesus in the gospels and experience the healing he brings at an “Unbound: Freedom in Christ” weekend retreat Feb. 4-6 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House, Waverly.
The retreat will be led by Father William Holoubek, pastor of St. Mary Parish in Ashland and St. Joseph Greenwood. Ordained for 25 years, Father Houloubek has since 2014 been instrumental in bringing Unbound ministry to the Diocese of Lincoln.
"I experienced a new freedom in Christ through the five keys," Father Holoubek said. "And since then, I have continued to use those keys in my own prayer and ministry, and greatly desire to share this with others."
Unbound Ministry is an approach to deliverance and healing prayer developed by Neal Lozano. Unbound teaches one how to listen and respond in five key areas, to seek greater freedom, and how to help others do the same. Each key assists individuals in overcoming the spiritual obstacles they encounter and gives practical ways to respond to the grace that unlocks the door and sets us free.
"We are all fighting a spiritual battle," Father Holoubek explained. "We struggle with negative thoughts, secret sins, and unhealthy relationships; we have destructive habits, idols, and false identities; we carry resentments and bitter wounds that never seem to heal."
As Unbound ministry is a deeper dive into listening to the heart, participants are invited to read in advance Part I of Lozano’s book, “Unbound: A Practical Guide to Deliverance,” or have watched an Unbound video series. Read more about the five keys at Heart of the Father Ministries (heartofthefather.com).
All retreats at Good Counsel Retreat House are being held both in-person and virtual (live-stream or on-demand recordings), therefore those who participate at home can also experience the retreat and request prayer via zoom.
Upcoming retreats will be held Feb. 12, “Holiness for Moms” with Father Benjamin Holdren; and Feb. 25-27, “Secrets from the Saints” with Dan Burke (including a “Spiritual Warfare Conference” with Dan Burke Saturday Feb. 26.)
