LINCOLN (SNR) – The Cathedral of the Risen Christ Parish in Lincoln will host “Risen” April 22, an evening of celebration with live music, ballroom dancing and an elegant hors d’oeuvres buffet.

After weeks of penance, fasting, and prayer during Lent, Easter is the perfect time to gather to celebrate the Risen Christ, explained Sally Easley, who is organizing the event with Sarah Lundy. They are assisted by committee members Judith Cowan, Leighann Lang, and Laura Brouillette.

“The COVID-19 pandemic put a pause on community-building events in churches all over the world,” Easley said, “and it’s time to bring that back. People are starving for an opportunity to strengthen relationships with one another and come together for a common purpose.”

Risen is a new fundraiser for the Cathedral of the Risen Christ, she said. The members hope it will bring people from parishes all over the Lincoln Diocese.

“We will be able to raise funds for our church, while offering our guests a wonderful event,” she continued. “An event ticket includes cocktails, an elegant hors d’oeuvres buffet provided by Philip Steffen, ballroom dancing lesson, and live music from The Bobby Layne Orchestra and The Reflections Big Band.”

The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Pla Mor Ballroom, 6600 W. O St., Lincoln.

Ticket prices are tiered for participants to choose a donor level of $100-200. All levels include the hors d’oeuvres buffet and two drink tickets.
