LINCOLN (SNR) – A mother/daughter program will be presented for 10- to 13-year-old girls and their mother or other supportive female adult Saturday, June 4 from 9 a.m. to noon at the John XXIII Diocesan Center, 37th and Sheridan in Lincoln.
The program will be presented virtually at the same time.
The mother/daughter program is an opportunity for mothers and their daughters to explore God’s gift of human fertility and the beauty and wonder of growing up and becoming a woman. Topics include the changes in a young woman’s body as it prepares for motherhood; the onset of ovulation and subsequent menstrual periods; the functions of the female reproductive system; the sacredness of human life; the virtue of chastity; and a confidential question-and-answer segment.
The purpose of the program is to provide an atmosphere of love and learning to discuss the important topic of growing up, and to establish a foundation for continued communication between parent and child.
