‘Capital City Clergy’ and ‘Omaha Padres’ to face off at Tal Anderson Field in Omaha

LINCOLN (SNR) – The I-80 Collar Series, a softball game between priests of the Diocese of Lincoln and priests from the Archdiocese of Omaha, will be held Sunday, June 12.

The game, sponsored by the Nebraska Knights of Columbus, will be played at Tal Anderson Field in Omaha, the new home field of the University of Nebraska Omaha’s Mavericks which opened in 2021.

Gates will open for the Collar Series at 3 p.m. June 12, and the game will start at 4 p.m.

The event marks a return of the game after a two-year hiatus. The first I-80 Collar Series between the “Capital City Clergy” and the “Omaha Padres” was held in Papillion in 2015, and attended by more than 7,000 people. In subsequent years, the game was held in a two-year rotation, hosted in the Omaha area for two years, then in Lincoln for two years, and returning to the Omaha area.

All proceeds from the game will assist in promoting vocations and religious life in the Diocese of Lincoln and the Archdiocese of Omaha.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for youth ages 4-17. Family packs are $30 for two adults and four youths. Priests and religious and youths under 4 are free. Tickets can be purchased online at SpiritCatholicRadio.com or http://am.ticketmaster.com/uno.

Tickets may be purchased in person at the UNO Baxter Arena ticket office or Cosgraves in Omaha, or at Gloria Deo stores in Omaha and Lincoln.
