LINCOLN (SNR) – A severe shortage of substitute teachers continues across the country, including in the Diocese of Lincoln Catholic Schools.
For those in the diocese who do not hold an educator certificate, there are two substitute options, explained Dave Friesen of the Diocesan Education Office. One option is a local substitute permit. The main requirements are at least 60 college hours and a human relations course.
The other option is for someone who previously held an educator certificate or equivalent in another state. They may qualify for a state substitute permit.
