WAVERLY (SNR) – All are invited to encounter the healing love of God at Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House in Waverly for the “Inner Healing Prayer” retreat with Father Craig Doty Nov. 4-6.

Father Doty has led this healing retreat several times over the past few years. Every human heart has a need for healing, he said, and Jesus the Divine Physician accompanies us on the journey as He gently and patiently heals our wounds and brings us into the glory which we will experience fully in heaven.

Inner healing prayer led by the Holy Spirit is a powerful way for participants to encounter the loving presence of Jesus and experience the Father’s love on that journey. The retreat is especially for those who desire to receive inner healing prayer during private one-hour sessions.

Shane Kennett, a member of St. Joseph Parish in Lincoln and part of the Lincoln Equipping Team, spoke of her experience serving on the healing retreat.

“I received an overwhelming sense of the goodness of God the Father and His love for each of us,” she said. “The more we let Him love us, the more we heal.”

The Lincoln Equipping Team is a prayer and healing ministry whose mission is to empower Catholics to pray for one another and discover the healing power of Christ in their lives.

Father Doty, pastor of St. Mary Parish in Denton, is also director of the Lincoln Equipping team. The ministry was founded in the Lincoln Diocese after his own healing experience at the “Healing the Whole Person” conference given by the John Paul II Healing Center in Tallahasse, Fla.
