LINCOLN (SNR) – The St. Benedict Prayer Team will host a conference on healing, encounter and transformation Dec. 2-3, presented by Barbara Heil.

The event will be held at St. Peter Church, 4500 Duxhall Dr., Lincoln.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2. The event will continue Saturday, Dec. 3, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Heil is a former Pentecostal minister who has traveled the world as a missionary, teacher and evangelist. She grew up on the West Coast, and as a student, had a life-changing encounter with the love of Christ. Heil was part of the staff at the Calvary Campground in Ashland, Va., for more than 20 years. There, she learned a life of prayer, worship, and devotion. Her hands-on training included kid’s camps, inner city ministry, missions, ministry to the poor, and crusades around the world.

As an adult, Heil learned she had been baptized as a child in the Catholic Church, and in 2013 she received the Rite of Confirmation in St. Paul, Minn.

She has spent the last few years traveling the U.S. and abroad, conducting worship seminars, retreats and conferences, leading mission trips, and offering prayer and counseling. Widowed for eight years, Heil recently married and now lives in Iowa.
