LINCOLN (SNR) - The annual auction to benefit Cathedral of the Risen Christ School in Lincoln will this year feature artwork by award-winning National Geographic photographer Joel Sartore.
Sartore and his wife Kathy are members and supporters of the Cathedral parish and school. The four prints include the “Pride of All Nebraska” Cornhusker marching band, and wildlife.
Sartore has produced more than 30 stories from around the world as
a freelance photographer for National Geographic magazine. He is also well known for his “Photo Ark” project, in which he has photographed species at zoos and conservation sites around the world to document biodiversity, and encourage people to act to save endangered species.
Other featured auction items include a dinner with Bishop James D. Conley, a week-long condo stay in Vail, Colo., an authentic American Girl Doll and customized accessories, and many more items. Proceeds go to benefit the Cathedral School Family Association.
The 16th annual auction to benefit Cathedral School will be held Feb. 1 at 6 p.m. in the Cathedral’s Bishop Bruskewitz Gym. The adult-only event includes a dinner along with a silent and live auction. Tickets for the event are $40 per person.
