LINCOLN (SNR) – The Diocese of Lincoln’s Good Shepherd Scholarship Fund awarded more than $2.9 million in tuition assistance to nearly 1,500 Catholic school students in 2022. This is the largest total that the fund has distributed in one year since its inception in 2019.

“The many generous supporters of the Good Shepherd Scholarship Fund have once again made Catholic education a possibility for hundreds of families in our diocese,” said Katie Ostgren, director of development and stewardship for the Diocese of Lincoln. “I can’t begin to imagine the impact that the students who benefit from the Good Shepherd Scholarship Fund will have on the Church and the world as they continue to be formed in our authentically Catholic, academically excellent schools.”

One in four students in Catholic schools receive tuition assistance from the Diocese of Lincoln in the form of Good Shepherd Scholarships. Since its inception in 2019, the Good Shepherd Scholarship Fund has awarded over $9 million in scholarships to families in need.

Applications for the Good Shepherd Scholarship will be available Jan. 1, 2023, for the 2023-2024 school year, and must be completed by March 31, 2023. Families whose income level falls below 225% of the federal poverty level and families who have more than three children enrolled in Catholic schools are eligible to apply.
