St. Anthony de Padua Parish in Bruno held a World Marriage Day celebration Feb. 18, culminating in a dance open to the public. 

Mass was celebrated at 4 p.m., followed by 5 p.m. meal hosted by the Parish Council of Catholic Women (PCCW). Maggie Miratsky, president of the PCCW, recognized the honored couples of the parish and presented a rose to each couple. The honored couples were those married 50 or more years, those marking special anniversaries this year, and the most recently married couple of the parish, Anthony and Maria Ostry.

Lee and Jean Coufal were honored as the longest-married couple of the parish. They will mark their 70th wedding anniversary May 23.

The Duffy Belorad Orchestra, led by Kevin Koopmann, provided music for the dance from 6 to 10 p.m. The dance was sponsored by members of the parish. The Duffy Belorad Orchestra also played at the Coufals’ wedding dance 70 years ago, as well as at the wedding of another honored couple, Ron and Jean Jakub who will be married 58 years in September.
