Retreat April 21-23 with Msgr. Daniel Seiker

All are invited to learn of the safest, easiest, shortest and most perfect way to heaven during the “True Devotion to Mary” retreat at Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House April 21-23.
The retreat master, Msgr. Daniel Seiker, will lead retreatants to consider the role of the Blessed Virgin Mary in God’s plan of salvation.
“Our Blessed Mother only wants what’s best for us and for all her children,” he said. “Mary wants us to know, love, and serve Jesus more. She wants nothing more than to help her children to Heaven.”
Those on retreat will come to understand Mary as the perfect disciple in following the Lord, and her role in aiding all people on the path to holiness.
The retreat will draw from the devotion to Mary in the lives of saints, the “Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary” by St. Louis de Montfort, and the messages of Marian apparitions. Coming to know Mary draws people to come to Christ more deeply, because Mary always leads people to her Son, and the Son can never refuse His Mother whom He loves.
“I see this retreat as an opportunity to meet, pray with, and share with others who also want to grow in love for the Lord and Mary,” Msgr. Seiker said.
Coming from his own personal devotion and encounter with the Blessed Virgin Mary, Msgr. Seiker said he prays that those who come on the retreat will know Mary as their mother, and live the mysteries of Christ as she did.
Msgr. Seiker was ordained a priest in 1987 and shortly after received his licentiate in Canon Law. He has served in various priestly and parish assignments in the Diocese of Lincoln, as well as chaplain at Wyoming Catholic College in Wyoming. He has also traveled to give retreats for the Missionaries of Charity (of St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta). Msgr. Seiker is currently in residence at the Cathedral of the Risen Christ in Lincoln.
