Eleven men were ordained deacons March 25 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Seminary in Denton.
The following day, Deacon Ben Feuerborn, who has assisted at Mass at St. Francis of Assisi Oratory in Lincoln since he was 4 years old, assisted at the Mass, his first as a deacon. He was able to proclaim the Gospel, preach, and distribute Holy Communion. Another newly ordained deacon, Rev. Mr. Steve Wetzel, served as the subdeacon at the High Mass.
Our Lady of Guadalupe Seminary is the international seminary for English-speaking candidates for the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter (FSSP).
The FSSP forms priests for the use of the traditonal form of the Roman Rite. The Fraternity was established in 1988 by Pope St. John Paul II.
